AGILITY

There will be four (4) agility trials offered in total at the Specialty. Nanaimo Kennel Club is offering two (2) All-Breed trials on Saturday, June 20th, 2009 and FCRSC is offering two (2) All-Breed trials on
Sunday, June 21st, 2009.

Classes will be offered for Standard and Jumpers with Weaves at the Novice A/B, Intermediate, and
Excellent A/B level. All classes will be offered in both Standard and Selected.

The trial will be HELD outdoors on grass at the same show site as our conformation show & obedience trial. Our esteemed judge is Bernadette Van Klaveren

OBEDIENCE

FCRSC is offering one (1) Obedience Trial (FCR's only) as part of the Specialty. Classes offered will be Pre-Novice,  Novice A/B/C, Novice Intermediate,
Open and Utility.

The trial will be outdoors on grass at the same show site as our conformation show and agility trials. Our esteemed judge is Joey Farrell.

Nanaimo Kennel Club (NKC) will also be offering two (2) All-Breed Obedience Trials on Saturday, June 20, 2009 and two (2) All-Breed Obedience Trials on
Sunday June 21, 2009.

CONFORMATION & SWEEPSTAKES

FCRSC is holding Puppy and Veteran Sweepstakes on Friday, June 19, 2009. The Specialty Conformation classes and breed will be judged on
Saturday, June 20, 2009.

Both regular and non-regular classes will be offered.

For those from outside of Canada, special note should be taken of the classes for
altered dogs and bitches.


  Classes include:
Regular Classes (Male & Female): 6-9 months, 9-12 months, 12-18 months, Bred-By-Exhibitor, Canadian Bred, Open, Veterans 7-9 years, Veterans 9-11 years, and Veterans 11+ years. Specials, Altered,
Award of Merits

Unofficial Classes: (Male & Female) Working, Field, Brace, Stud Dog and Get, Brood Bitch and Progeny.

Our esteemed judges will be Glenys Gwilliam from the United Kingdom, judging the Breed Ring, and
Paddy Engen from the USA judging Veteran and Puppy Sweepstakes.

Comox Valley Kennel Club is offering a 3-day All Breed show on the weekend before the specialty on June 13-15, 2009. Between their show and the specialty is  approximately a 1 1/2 hours drive.

Nanaimo Kennel Club is offering a 3-day All Breed show on the weekend of the Specialty. The proposed judges for the Flat-Coats at this time are: Brenda Wilson--on permit (Friday), Kuke Khan (Saturday) and Grant Townsend (Sunday).

JUNIOR HANDLING

FCRSC will be holding a Junior Handling competition on Friday, June 19, 2009. Junior Handlers may only use Flat-Coats that have been entered into the
Conformation Specialty Competition on Saturday. June 20, 2009. Dogs may be entered For Exhibition Only. Under CKC rules, Junior Handlers do not have to own the dog.  Junior Handlers do not have to pre-register, but may enter up to one hour preceding the competition time.

Our esteemed judge will be Vaughn Franske.

NKC will be holding a Junior Handling competition on Saturday, June 20, 2009, and Sunday, June 21, 2009. . This is open to handlers with any breed of dog that is entered
into a regular class on that day.

WORKING CERTIFICATE TESTS

As part of the FCRSC National Specialty we will be holding a WC/WCI/WCX  test on Monday, June 22, 2009. It will take place  approximately a 40 minute  drive south of Nanaimo at Swallowfield. Follow this link for directions.

On Sunday, June 21, 2009 the Pacific Rim Hunting
Retriever Club (PRHRC) will be hosting a
WC/WCI/WCX test at the same location.

The WC portion of the PRHRC test will not start before 12 noon. We are hoping to arrange for the Flat-Coats to be in the NKC conformation ring as early as possible Sunday morning to allow the dogs to participate in both field and conformation. 


Please mark your calendar for these two
opportunities for the Working Certificate Tests.

For those not familiar with the CKC Rules, please note that a pass in the WC Test is a pre-requisite for
entering the WCI, and the WCI is a pre-requisite for entering the WCX Test. 

Move-ups will be allowed between the PRHRC Test on Sunday, and the FCRSC Test on Monday.

Our esteemed judges for the FCRSC WC Test are: Anna Daly and Joey Farrell. Our esteemed judges for the FCRSC WCI and WCX tests are Judy Teskey
and Mary Shillabeer.
